A critical need for safety
In 2021 while the founder was working on an industrial jobsite, an illegible panel schedule caused an accident which could have cost the lives of several of his men. Following this incident, he sought out an alternative to traditional paper panel schedules and found nothing. How could he create an easy to use web app to help keep people safe in both industry and in their homes?
The Need
Create a new online application that provides a convenient and easy-to-use method of tracking and managing electrical panel documentation. This solution needed to be robust enough to satisfy the demands of managing larger and more complex electrical panels found in industrial and commercial implementations, as well as easily scale back into a simpler, more consumer friendly version for the typical homeowner. To tackle this challenge, they turned to Dorian Solutions and the flexibility and scalability of PrismHQ.
The Solution
Dorian Solutions worked closely with the BreakerBoss founder to understand his vision and find the most economical and straightforward solution – saving a lot of money on development. PrismHQ was then customized into a simple, but scalable, web-based application that would meet the needs of both similar but unique customer groups. This new solution allowed both types of customer accounts to exist within the same system architecture, without the need for wasteful duplication of separate functionality. BreakerBoss’s focus on simplicity and convenience was further enhanced by taking advantage of QR code technology for quick and convenient access, while still enabling security controls by Admin users to set permissions for accessing and managing panel information. Finally, the solution was designed with a mobile-first philosophy to ensure efficient and effective performance on smartphones and other mobile devices – all with ongoing support from Dorian Solutions.
